Job summary

Lehigh Valley Health Network in Allentown, PA seeks a qualified Radiologic Technologist – Interventional to support interventional radiology procedures and patient care in a fast-paced IR suite.

Responsibilities include assisting physicians, preparing contrast, documenting procedures, maintaining sterile fields, and ensuring safety for patients ranging from newborns to geriatrics. Requires PA RT and ARRT certifications with BLS.

Qualifications

• Technical School Diploma Radiology.
• 2 years General diagnostic radiology experience.
• 1 year Interventional radiology experience.
• Ability to exercise judgment with patients, equipment, and personnel.
• Must be able to work in stressful situations.
• RT - Registered Technologist Radiology - State of Pennsylvania
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support - State of Pennsylvania within 90 Days
• VI - Vascular Interventional Radiography ARRT - State of Pennsylvania

Responsibilities

• Provides post procedure care to the patient (includes holding pressure as well as cleaning, suturing, and bandaging of procedure site).
• Produces images of diagnostic quality and prepares images for interpretation by the radiologist.
• Acts as a scrub assistant during interventional procedures under fluoroscopy while maintaining a sterile technique.
• Prepares and administers contrast under the supervision of the Radiologist and assists in specialized procedures.
• Verifies injection settings and ensures safe operation of catheters and injectors with physician supervision.
• Sets up sterile tray and prepares patient for exam, ensuring supplies are available.
