Job summary

University Hospitals is seeking a Special Procedures Technologist to support imaging-guided diagnostics and interventions. The role involves preparing patients, operating imaging equipment, maintaining sterile conditions, monitoring status, and assisting physicians with procedures in a fast-paced setting.

The ideal candidate has an associate degree in Radiologic Technology, ARRT-R certification, and Ohio license, with 1+ year of professional experience and comfort in teaching students.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or completion of a 2-year program in Radiologic Technology required.
• 1+ years of experience as a Registered Radiologic Technologist; IR experience preferred.
• Requires ARRT-R certification and Ohio Radiographer license; BLS CPR.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a procedural team.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates competency in patient positioning and imaging for radiographic procedures, maintaining age-specific care.
• Uses administrative skills to manage inventory and enter correct billing codes in RIS and patient sheets.
• Adheres to ALARA, Image Gently/Wisely, safety standards, privacy laws, and SOPs.
• Records database/log entries and maintains licensure and continuing education.
• Instructs students and new staff after 1 year of experience; collaborates with radiologists and surgeons.
