Overview

Performs a variety of complex specialized tasks in operating radiographic equipment to conduct interventional procedures.

Responsibilities

• Operate radiographic equipment for interventional procedures.
• Monitor and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, quality standards, compliance activities, and policies and procedures.
• Effectively manage resources such as supplies and equipment.
• Plan work and complete job responsibilities efficiently.
• Demonstrate professional work behavior and excellent customer service in all interactions.
• Perform other job functions as assigned or requested.

Qualifications

• Technical Degree or Diploma in Radiology.
• Prior work experience not required (entry level position).
• Ability to relate and communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
• Basic knowledge of RIS, HIS, and PACS preferred.

Licenses and Certifications

• BASIC LIFE SUPPORT (American Heart Association) – required.
• Registered Radiologic Technologist (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) – required.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (American Heart Association) – preferred.

Supervision

No supervisory or lead responsibilities. The incumbent may occasionally demonstrate responsibilities to student technologists.

Physical Demands

• Climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, repetitive motion.
• Medium work – exerting up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally and up to 25 lbs. of force frequently.
• Require close visual acuity (color, depth perception, field of vision) for patient assessment, data analysis, transcribing, computer use, and extensive reading.
• Frequent invasive and non-invasive patient contact; exposure to body fluids, radiation, hazardous or poisonous materials.
• Ability to react quickly to emergency situations.
