The Radiology Technician I (Rad Tech I) operates imaging equipment to perform procedures for a specified patient population. The role includes operating radiation equipment, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, managing resources, and providing professional customer service.
There are no supervisory responsibilities assigned to this position, except that the incumbent may occasionally demonstrate various job responsibilities to other associates and observe/instruct student technologists.
Physical activities may include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion. Must have good balance and coordination. Exertion may involve up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and up to 25 pounds frequently. Requires close visual acuity, including color, depth perception, and field of vision. Involves frequent invasive and non‑invasive patient contact, exposure to patient body fluids and hazardous materials, and quick reaction to emergency situations.
