Job summary

Ochsner Health in Louisiana is seeking an Interventional Radiologic Technologist to operate fluoroscopy, CT, and Ultrasound equipment and support physicians and RNs throughout patient care. The role includes preparing rooms, equipment, and patients, and maintaining inventory for daily function within the network database.

The education and certifications required include an AMA-approved Radiologic Technology program, ARRT registration, LSRTBE license, and BLS; Advanced certification in Vascular

Qualifications

• Completion of a Radiologic Technology program in an AMA approved school.
• Required - None
• Preferred - 2 year experience in Interventional Radiology.
• Registered by the ARRT and licensed by the LSRTBE.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced certification in Vascular Interventional Radiology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Verifies physician order and procedure to assure accuracy.
• Utilizes radiology information systems to facilitate care.
• Explains procedure to patient to ensure understanding.
• Independently operates equipment to complete imaging procedure according to protocol.
• Reviews patient images prior to transmission to ensure diagnostic quality.
• Completes timely quality control procedures in accordance with regulatory standards.
• Assists in facilitation of departmental operations (inventory, staff schedules, equipment, maintenance).
• Adapts communication and approach to the specific patient population.
