Job summary

Unity Hospital in Rochester, NY is seeking a Special Procedure Technologist who serves as a radiologic technologist and special procedures technologist within the Interventional & Imaging Services team. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary group to deliver high-quality patient care.

Key duties include performing angiography and cardiac catheterizations, maintaining ALARA radiation safety, assisting with sterile procedures, and documenting cases.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Radiologic Technology or hospital certificate program.
• New York State registry eligible in Radiologic Technology.
• NYS license in Radiologic Technology required or must obtain licensure within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs as a radiologic technologist; prioritizes tasks and exams, confirms patient identification and examination, provides radiologist with pertinent information for interpretation, and positions patients for standard views.
• Performs as a Special Procedures Technologist: angiography, cardiac catheterizations, pacemaker insertions, IVC filters, stents, angioplasty, catheter insertions.
• Utilizes ALARA to maintain safe radiation standards.
• Assists physicians in sterile procedures.
• Assists in post-operative care and groin hemostasis after sheath removal.
• Maintains documentation and equipment readiness.
