Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a qualified Interventional Radiology Technologist to operate angiographic and ultrasound equipment for inpatient and outpatient procedures, while assisting with interventional and surgical cases. The role includes patient monitoring, emergency response, image processing, and recording accurate patient data.

The candidate must hold a Radiographer license (IL) and ARRT registration, with BLS and ACLS within 6 months. Typically requires 2 years of IR tech experience.

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of radiology positioning and techniques.
• Advanced knowledge of basic radiation safety and aseptic techniques.
• Advanced knowledge of anatomy including vascular and/or cerebral.
• Familiarity with physician protocols and collaboration with diverse providers.
• Knowledge of embolic and thrombolytic materials and monitoring equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate angiographic and ultrasound equipment for inpatient and outpatient procedures.
• Assist with interventional procedures as scrub assistant and resource for equipment options.
• Monitor patient status and respond to emergencies, including CPR when needed.
• Process and label images, ensuring patient identifiers and scan locations are correct.
• Maintain records and document billing codes for procedures.
• Serve as a technical resource and mentor for staff and students.
