Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking an Interventional Radiology Technologist I to join our team in Illinois. The role involves performing interventional procedures, caring for patients, and collaborating across Neuro-IR, Interventional Cardiology, Cardiac Electrophysiology, and Interventional Radiology services.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Radiology Technologist program or Associate Degree in Applied Sciences.
• ARRT Certification required.
• IEMA Licensure required.
• BLS through American Heart Association.
• ACLS through American Heart Association within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs all aspects of patient care to optimize safety and reduce errors.
• Performs interventional procedure setup, patient prep, procedures, and room turnover.
• Pre-procedure assessment of clinical data and patient information.
• Maintains sterile technique and asepsis during procedures and cleans rooms as needed.
• Scrubs in and circulates on diagnostic and interventional procedures under physician supervision.
• Manages vascular sheath and access procedures as directed.
• Positions and drapes patients for optimal access and comfort.
• Documents intra-procedural data in medical records and billing systems.
• Assists with patient transport and coordination of scheduling as needed.
• Operates imaging systems and ensures quality diagnostic data and outcomes.
• Adheres to radiation safety practices per licensing authorities.
• Reviews imaging data against standards and acts to maintain quality.
• Maintains evidence-based procedure manuals and supports cross-department work.
• Provides effective communication with patients, families, and team members.
• Maintains organized work areas and monitors inventory.
