Job summary

CommonSpirit Health—St. Anthony Hospital in Lakewood, Colorado—seeks an Interventional Radiology Technician to deliver high-quality imaging and patient care within a fast-paced medical imaging department.

You will perform interventional procedures, uphold ALARA radiation safety, and serve as a clinical resource to physicians and imaging staff. Strong leadership and patient-focused care are essential for this role.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• ARRT-RT licensure as RT(R) and RT(R)(VI) or RT(R)(CV) as applicable.
• BLS certification per AHA requirements.
• Colorado Surgical Assistant or Surgical Tech Registry on hire for Colorado staff.

Responsibilities

• Perform interventional radiology procedures with attention to radiation safety and ALARA.
• Produce high-quality images accurately and timely.
• Prepare patients for exams and provide pre/post-procedure instructions.

Registered Radiology Technologist RT(R) (ARRT)

Registered Radiology Technologist Vascular-Interventional Radiology RT(R)(VI)(ARRT) or Cardiovascular-Interventional Radiology RT(R)(CV)(ARRT)

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Interventional Radiology Tech, you will provide quality patient care within the medical imaging department, performing high-quality images and exams, while serving as a role model and clinical resource to ensure current standards of practice. Every day you will perform interventional radiology procedures with precision, maintain sensitivity to patient needs, strictly follow safe radiation practices, and act as a clinical resource to unit personnel, upholding the highest standards of imaging excellence. To be successful in this role, you will possess current Interventional Radiology licensure/certification, exceptional technical skills in advanced imaging procedures, a strong commitment to patient safety and compassionate care, and the ability to serve as a leader and resource within the medical imaging unit.

• Performs imaging procedures, providing safety for self, patients, and all other individuals.
• Practices all rules and regulations pertaining to radiation safety, reducing personal and patient exposure to "as low as reasonably achievable" (ALARA).
• Produces quality images in a complete, accurate, and timely manner.
• Prepares patient for exam.
• Provides information and instruction to patient and/or family regarding the procedure and responds to their physical and emotional needs.
• Observes patient and equipment during the procedure and reports/documents unusual occurrences and records patient’s condition. Communicates in writing and verbally with all physicians, imaging personnel, students, and hospital staff in facilitating the continuum of care.

Job Requirements

Required

• High School Diploma or GED
• Registered Radiology Technologist R.T. (R) (ARRT)
• Registered Radiology Technologist Vascular-Interventional Radiology R.T. (R)(VI)(ARRT) or Cardiovascular-Interventional Radiology R.T. (R)(CV)(ARRT)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association
• Colorado Surgical Assistant or Surgical Tech Registry (through the Department of Regulatory Agencies) upon hire unless performing Surgical Assistant duties within the scope of another active Colorado license, certification, or registration (required for Colorado employed staff only).

Preferred

• Associate's Degree
• One (1) year imaging experience
• Advances Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through the American Heart Association
