Job summary

IR Centers is a multidisciplinary private practice endovascular lab providing interventional radiology services in outpatient settings. The Surgical Technologist (IR Scrub Tech) will prepare patients and rooms for radiology procedures, maintain a sterile environment, and pass instruments to physicians during procedures.

Full-time role Monday through Friday requiring a high school diploma, valid BLS, 2 years scrub tech experience, and preferred ARRT/CST certification.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required.
  • Valid BLS Certification.
  • Surgical technologist with 2 years of experience.
  • ARRT / CST Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares patients and procedure rooms for radiology procedures.
  • Reviews patient orders to determine necessary materials and sets up/cleans procedure rooms.
  • Assists with patient prep, transfers, and positioning.
  • Inputs patient data into the C-Arm and assists physicians during interventional procedures, maintaining sterile technique.
  • Complies with HIPAA, draws up and labels IV medications, and processes/archives x-ray images.
  • Manages equipment maintenance, supply inventory, and hazardous waste disposal.
  • May serve as Radiation Safety Officer and assist with accreditation surveys.
  • Ensures effective communication with physicians.
  • Assists with patient billing, verifying procedure charges, CPT, and ICD9 codes.
