Job summary

IR Centers at Kansas City Urology Care in the outpatient setting is seeking a Surgical Technologist (IR Scrub Tech) to prepare patients and procedure rooms for radiology procedures, maintain a sterile environment, and assist physicians during interventional procedures.

This is a full-time day-shift role requiring a high school diploma, Valid BLS Certification, and scrub tech experience; ARRT/CST certification is preferred.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma is required.
  • BLS Certification is required.
  • ARRT / CST Certification (Preferred) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares patients and procedure rooms for radiology procedures.
  • Reviews patient orders to determine necessary materials and sets up/cleans procedure rooms.
  • Assists with patient prep, transfers, and positioning.
  • Inputs patient data into the C-Arm and assists physicians during interventional procedures, maintaining sterile technique.
  • Complies with HIPAA, draws up and labels IV medications, and processes/archives x-ray images.
  • Manages equipment maintenance, supply inventory, and hazardous waste disposal.
  • May serve as Radiation Safety Officer and assist with accreditation surveys.
  • Ensures effective communication with physicians.
  • Assists with patient billing, verifying procedure charges, CPT, and ICD9 codes.
