Qualifications

• Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
• Active registered nurse (RN) license with privileges to practice in the state(s) where the RN is providing client nursing services.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; additional certs may be required by specialty.
• Typically requires 1 year of experience in clinical nursing.

Responsibilities

• Engages in unit councils, governance, and quality initiatives to improve care and apply evidence-based practices.
• Uses the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate care, involving patients and families.
• Monitors patient conditions, adjusts care plans, mobilizes resources, and collaborates with the care team to improve outcomes.
• Upholds and promotes a culture of safety.
• Evaluates patient, team, and unit outcomes and acts to improve them.
• May administer medications, treatments, and therapies per clinical protocols.
• Demonstrates effective communication, feedback, and conflict resolution, enabling delegation where appropriate.
• Pursues ongoing professional development and maintains required certifications.
• Adheres to ANA Code of Ethics and supports integrated, unbiased patient care.
• Delegates to RNs, LPNs, and unlicensed personnel as appropriate.
• Maintains accurate, timely EHR documentation.
• May float to other units or facilities to meet patient care needs.
• Provide age-appropriate care aligned with department policies.
