Job summary

Johnston-Willis Hospital in the Richmond area is seeking an Interventional Radiology Registered Nurse (RN). You will monitor sedation, assist with sterile technique, prepare patients, and ensure proper equipment setup and daily log maintenance.

The role requires at least three years of RN experience, including one year in radiology nursing, Virginia nursing registration (or compact license), ACLS and BCLS within 30 days of start.

Qualifications

• Three years experience as a registered nurse.
• One year experience in radiology nursing.
• Graduate of an AMA approved School of Nursing.
• Current Virginia nursing license or compact license.
• ACLS within 30 days of start date.
• BCLS within 30 days of start date.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate knowledge of sedation meds and monitoring per policy.
• Assess and intervene to maintain patient physiological homeostasis.
• Prepare patients including labs, allergies, premedication needs, and history.
• Assist with equipment setup prior to procedures.
• Maintain emergency equipment function and logs.
• Coordinate patient transport and bed coordination with departments.
• Educate patients pre- and post-procedure.
• Document per JCAHO criteria and nursing standards.
• Demonstrate knowledge of Meditech and PACS.
• Assist in care of interventional patients and maintain sterile fields.
• Fulfill on-call/callback requirements.
• Perform glucose checks, environmental rounds, and room turnover.
