Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license with privileges to practice.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• BSN preferred; licensure as RN in applicable state.

Responsibilities

• Engages in unit councils, professional governance, and quality initiatives to improve care processes and apply evidence-based practices.
• Monitors patient conditions, adjusts care plans, collaborates with the care team to influence care outcomes.
• Upholds and promotes a culture of safety.
• May administer medications, treatments, and therapies safely and according to clinical protocols.
• Maintains accurate, timely EHR documentation.
• May be required to float to other units or facilities within the service area to meet patient care needs.
• Adheres to the ANA Code of Ethics and practices ethical decision-making, respecting interdisciplinary roles.
• Appropriately delegates to RNs, LPNs, and unlicensed assistive personnel.
• Must demonstrate knowledge of growth and development to provide age-specific patient care.
