Job summary

Montage Health in Monterey, CA is seeking a registered nurse to plan, direct, assess and provide high-quality care per hospital policies. The RN will orient new staff and precept students, and may assume relief charge nurse duties as oriented and assigned.

Experience in acute care, strong communication skills, and a CA RN license are required or pursued, with ACLS/PALS and BLS as prerequisites. A 0.9 pay period and regular hours apply; evening and night shift differentials are provided.

Qualifications

• Must hold a California RN license.
• ACLS and PALS must be obtained prior to completion of orientation.
• BLS certification required at minimum.
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.

Job Description:

Under the leadership of the department director, assistant director, nursing supervisor, and/or charge nurse, the registered nurse is responsible and accountable for planning directing, assessing and providing nursing care according to the policies and procedures of the hospital and department. Important dimensions of this position consist of quality of care, professional commitment, teamwork, interpersonal skills, safety, good public/customer relations and a broad nursing knowledge. The registered nurse is an experienced nurse who shall orient new staff, precept students, and assume relief charge nurse duty as oriented and assigned.

Experience

Acute care hospital experience within the past 5 years is preferred. Critical care and ventilator management experience as well as conscious sedation monitoring skills preferred. Relevant clinical experienced preferred. Ability to effectively communicate in Spanish and additional foreign languages is strongly preferred.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.

Must pass orientation and initial competency assessment prior to independent assignment of patients requiring the applicable skill, and must complete and pass all annual competencies.

Licensure/Certifications

State of California RN license required. American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS required. ACLS and PALS must be obtained prior to completion of orientation and independent assignment. Certified Radiology Nurse (CRN) certification highly desirable.
