Job summary

Washington University in St. Louis in Saint Louis, MO is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to support the Interventional Radiology clinic in both administrative and clinical tasks.

This role requires excellent communication, initiative, critical thinking, and the ability to multitask while providing nursing care under physician supervision. The LPN will document patient information in Epic, assist with procedures, obtain vital signs, phlebotomy, EKGs, vaccines, and allergy injections, and help

Qualifications

• Current LPN licensure in MO and/or IL depending on location.
• BLS certification must be obtained within one month of hire date.
• BLS certifications with online component alone are not sufficient.

Responsibilities

• Act as liaison between physicians and patients, field calls and coordinate follow-ups.
• Schedule tests and procedures; ensure accurate paperwork and communications.
• Explain pre- and post-operative instructions to patients and relay test results.
• Assist physicians in outpatient settings and support follow-up plans.
• Update and document information in EMR and manage appointment logistics.
• Monitor patient conditions and alert physicians to abnormal results.
• Support care plans in collaboration with the patient care team.
