Job summary

U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a board-certified Interventional Radiologist for the Minneapolis VA Healthcare System. The role includes performing interventional radiology procedures, interpreting imaging studies, and supervising trainees within an academic clinical setting.

The position requires an MD/DO, full medical license in the U.S., and fellowship training in interventional radiology. Eligible for Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP). Competitive federal benefits.

Qualifications

• MD or DO with full, unrestricted medical license.
• VA-approved school degree in the year of completion.
• Full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a U.S. state.
• Completed residency in an accredited core specialty leading to board certification.
• Board certification or equivalent experience for academic training programs.
• Fellowship training in interventional radiology.

Responsibilities

• Provide interventional radiology services – consultations, diagnostic imaging, therapeutic procedures, patient management and follow‑up care at the Minneapolis VAHCS.
• Interpret and submit radiology reports for outpatient and inpatient settings.
• Ensure quality, timeliness and customer satisfaction; comply with accrediting bodies (Joint Commission, Inspector General).
• Perform image‑guided vascular and non‑vascular diagnostic and interventional procedures.
• Administer moderate sedation and contrast materials; manage contrast reactions.
• Interpret CT, CTA, US, MR, MRA, plain films and fluoroscopic procedures.
• Participate in quality management activities (film quality review, peer review) and assigned conferences (vascular and tumor boards).
• Maintain credentials through continuing education; use electronic medical record and protocoling applications.
• Provide call coverage and supervise trainees (students, residents, fellows).
