Job summary

Piedmont Atlanta Hospital in Atlanta, GA is seeking an Interventional Radiology Technologist to perform diagnostic and interventional procedures, manage patient care, and ensure protocol adherence across age groups. You will position patients, select imaging protocols, and operate radiology equipment while following Radiation Safety policies and documenting post-processing results.

No experience required; graduation from AMA-approved Radiologic Technology program is required and ARDMS or ARRT

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an AMA approved Radiologic Technology program or JRCERT-accredited hospital-based training program.
  • No experience required.
  • Current ARDMS or ARRT radiographer registration upon hire.
  • BCLS - Basic Life Support upon hire.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates competence in performing interventional radiology procedures on patients of all ages.
  • Position patient, select protocols, and utilize imaging equipment.
  • Adhere to established imaging protocols for each exam and ensure high-quality, age-appropriate care.
  • Adhere to Radiation Safety Policies and dose-reduction practices.
  • Provide patient education and clear communications.
  • Maintain post-processing and accurate record keeping.
  • Ensure care for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient populations.

Responsibilities

Performs diagnostic and interventional procedures to include but not limited to: angiography, venography, myelography, nephro-ureteral, and gastrointestinal studies, and modality assisted drainage and biopsies. Completes all post processing functions. Performs related record keeping and patient care functions. Ensures the utilization of established protocols and techniques differentiating for adolescent, adult and geriatric patient population in the performance of diagnostic procedures and functions.

  • Demonstrates competence and proficiency in performing all interventional radiology procedures on patients of all age groups. Positions patient, selects the correct protocol, and utilizes all required equipment.
  • Maintains competencies for all related components.
  • Accurately follows all established imaging protocols for exam being performed.
  • Provides quality age specific care in accordance with prescribed standards and practices.
  • Adhere to the Radiation Safety Policies and the principles of a viable dose reduction program.
  • Provides patient education and communications in accordance with prescribed standards.
  • Must be competent and proficient to position, select correct protocol and utilize imaging equipment on patients of all age groups for radiological exams, when requested.
