Job summary

St. David's Medical Center in Austin, TX seeks a Special Procedures Technologist for a PRN position within the Interventional Radiology suite. The role provides technical support to physicians during diagnostic and interventional procedures and ensures efficient daily operations in the Imaging department.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree or graduate from an accredited Radiological Technology Program (ARRT).
• 2-years Radiology Tech experience in an acute setting.
• 1-2 years’ experience as an Interventional Technologist.

Responsibilities

• Assist with all procedures performed in the Interventional Suite.
• Demonstrate proficiency with all equipment within the Interventional Suite procedure room including fluoroscopy, table, injector, monitors, ultrasound, and image transfer controls.
• Demonstrate understanding of supplies used for specified procedures.
• Demonstrate familiarity with Renal, Neuro, Peripheral and Vascular anatomy.
• Maintain sterile technique and sterile field during scrub position.
• Prepare patient and room for exams while managing wires and components.
• Serve as circulator during procedures including supplying, adjusting technique, operating injector and communicating with team.
• Provide patient care and explain procedures to patients to ensure understanding.
• Ensure patient safety throughout the exam and adherence to precautions.
• Perform other duties to ensure department efficiency.

Associate Degree in Radiologic Technology (ARRT approved)
