Job summary

UNC Health Cary Orthopaedics is seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Provider (FNP or PA) to join our Interventional Pain and Spine team in an outpatient setting. The APP will manage acute and chronic pain patients, work closely with the physician, and receive ongoing mentorship and procedural training.

This is a 0.6 FTE, part-time, onsite position in Cary, NC with no on-call duties. Strong candidates will have graduate-level APRN/PA training and current NC licensure; prior pain management

Qualifications

• Must have completed an accredited graduate-level Advanced Practice Provider program.
• Licensed as an APRN or PA in North Carolina (FNP/PA); DEA may be required.
• Pain management or spine care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and manage patients with acute and chronic pain, especially spine-related disorders.
• Review and interpret MRI and other imaging to support diagnosis and treatment planning.
• Conduct follow-up visits after interventional procedures like spinal injections.
• Collaborate with the physician to develop and adjust individualized treatment plans.
• Manage clinic patients independently while procedures are performed and patients are seen elsewhere.
• Perform select office-based procedures within scope and training (e.g., injections).
