Job summary

Columbia Orthopaedic Group in Columbia, MO seeks a Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our Interventional Pain Management team. This full-time role emphasizes patient-focused evaluations, collaborative care with physicians, and ongoing management of acute and chronic pain.

The ideal candidate has pain management interest or related clinical experience, strong clinical judgment, and excellent communication skills.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program.
• Current Missouri PA or NP license in good standing, or eligibility to obtain Missouri licensure.
• Appropriate national certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient evaluations, including histories and physical examinations.
• Develop and manage individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the physician.
• Provide follow-up care for patients receiving interventional pain management treatment.
• Review diagnostic imaging, laboratory results and other clinical information.
• Educate patients about diagnoses, treatment options, procedures and expectations.
• Evaluate patient progress and adjust treatment plans as appropriate.
• Order appropriate diagnostic testing, medications and therapies within scope of practice.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.
• Collaborate closely with physicians, clinical staff and other members of the care team.
• Help patients navigate chronic and complex conditions with compassion, professionalism and clear communication.
