Job summary

CommonSpirit Memorial is seeking a Neurology Nurse to provide expert critical care for patients with complex neurological conditions and guide families through health decisions.

You will perform neurological and head-to-toe exams, monitor vitals, manage drains, administer medications, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to improve outcomes in challenging cases such as hemorrhages, strokes, and tumors.

Qualifications

• Interdisciplinary teamwork is essential to coordinate care across specialties.
• Strong clinical assessment and neurology care capabilities are required.
• Ability to monitor vitals and recognize deterioration in neuro patients.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive neurological and head-to-toe exams.
• Monitor vital signs and manage neurology-specific drains.
• Administer medications and IVs following five rights of medication administration.
• Transcribe and implement physician orders accurately within policies.
• Document patient care in medical records and maintain charging systems.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to optimize outcomes.

As our Neurology Nurse, you will be a specialized expert, providing critical care to patients facing complex neurological conditions and guiding their families through pivotal health decisions.

Every day, you will perform intricate neurological and head-to-toe exams, meticulously monitor vitals, manage specialized drains, administer medications, and collaborate seamlessly with our interdisciplinary team to achieve optimal outcomes for challenging cases like hemorrhages, strokes, and tumors.

• Demonstrate competence to performs the core responsibilities of the staff nurse in


• Imaging Services.


• Demonstrate competency in basic clinical procedures performed in the Imaging Services according to the established nursing policy.


• Administers medication and IV’s safely, following the “five rights” of medication administration and within the nursing policy.


• Transcribes and implements physician orders accurately and within nursing procedure time frames and policy.


• Completes department documentation requirements according to established policy, time frames, and format including; documentation of patient care on medical records, and maintenance of patient charging system.
