Job summary

Northwestern Memorial Hospital is seeking a Radiographer - Cardiovascular to perform cardiac catheterization lab radiographic and fluoroscopic imaging for inpatients and outpatients. You will evaluate requests, operate imaging systems, assist with hemodynamics, and maintain patient safety and comfort under department protocols.

The role requires ARRT certification, IDNS license, and BCLS certification; strong organizational and communication skills are essential but detail-oriented professionals

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Applied Sciences.
• ARRT certified, IDNS License, BCLS Certification.
• Maintains competencies and continuing education requirements.
• Understanding of medical terminology.
• Strong computer skills.
• Ability to work productively in a fast paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Must be detail-oriented and highly organized.
• Bachelor of Science degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs Cardiac Catheterization Lab radiographic and fluoroscopic imaging for diagnosis and interventions.
• Obtains hemodynamic data and digital angiograms; supports patient care per protocols.
• Evaluate requests to determine procedure protocol and method.
• Employ imaging systems and accessories to generate images.
• Performs interventional radiographic procedures.
• Cares for the patient throughout the procedure per care standards.
• Assist with lifting and transporting patients to imaging rooms.
• Review images for standards compliance and take corrective action.
• Document procedures electronically.
• Position patients to best demonstrate anatomy while protecting privacy.
• Maintain asepsis and safe work practices.
• Monitor supplies and keep imaging rooms stocked and clean.
• Report equipment failures promptly.
• Follow radiation safety practices to limit exposure.
