Job summary

St. Joseph’s Health in Syracuse, NY seeks a Registered Nurse for the cardiovascular/ procedural lab. This full-time day shift role involves collaboration with physicians and nurses to provide high-quality care from patient arrival through discharge and transfer, including on-call coverage as needed.

Ideal candidates hold NY RN licensure, a BSN is preferred, and 1 year of med-surg or critical care experience is desired. Strong teamwork and documentation skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Must have graduation from an accredited school of nursing and current licensure in NY.
• BSN degree preferred per NYS requirements.
• Minimum 1 year med-surg or critical care experience preferred.
• Specialty credentialing & educational degree preferred.
• Maintain all licensures and certifications per NYS rules.
• Commitment to continuing education and skill updates.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with physicians, LPN scrub techs and circulating RNs to provide optimal care.
• Assess, plan, implement, coordinate, monitor and evaluate the patient’s care plan.
• Monitor procedures and deliver care to critically ill patients in the lab.
• Apply clinical knowledge and case management principles to coordinate care.
• Ensure seamless, efficient transition of care across the continuum.
• Respond to AMI calls in ED and inpatient units.
• Monitor department quality metrics and document accurately.
• Serve as mentor, educator, consultant and navigator for students and new staff.
• Ensure care aligns with NY Nurse Practice Act and professional standards.
