Job summary

Montefiore Medical Center seeks a Physician Assistant to provide direct patient care within the Interventional Cardiology service line, including the Rapid Access Unit and Cath Lab. Responsibilities include pre- and post-procedure care, hemostasis after sheath removal, and collaboration with cardiology teams to ensure safe, efficient, patient-centered care.

The PA will interpret labs, EKGs, and imaging, perform EKGs and venipuncture, start IV lines, and assist in diagnostic and interventional

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree; Graduate of an accredited PA program.
• Physician Assistant License in New York State.
• NCCPA certification.
• OHS Fit Test.
• OHS Annual Assessment.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients and perform H&Ps for interventional procedures.
• Manage pre- and post-procedure care and discharge planning.
• Remove sheaths and TR bands; ensure hemostasis and escalation of care as needed.
• Interpret labs, EKGs, and imaging; present cases to interventionalists.
• Perform EKGs, venipuncture, start IV lines, and administer IV meds.
• Respond to cardiac emergencies in collaboration with the medical team.
• Conduct pre-procedure phone assessments for medication history and labs.
• Assist in recruitment for cardiology research studies.
• Provide follow-up care in post-interventional clinics; monitor DAP therapy adherence.
• Collaborate with nurses, PAs, MDs, and transfer staff for seamless care.
