Job summary

University Health is seeking a Staff Nurse for Interventional Cardiology – Heart Failure to coordinate care for CHF patients in an outpatient setting, working with a multidisciplinary team. You will provide direct patient care, patient education, and guidance to clinical staff, following physician protocols and nursing standards.

The ideal candidate holds Texas RN licensure, BSN preferred, and at least 2 years of cardiology experience, with BLS/ACLS certification.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing with current RN licensure in Texas; BSN preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of recent clinical experience directly related to cardiology.
• Must meet Staff Nurse II criteria for the worked area.
• Verification of course completion per American Heart Association BLS/ACLS guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate services for heart failure patients in outpatient care with a multidisciplinary team.
• Provide direct patient care and patient education as directed by physicians.
• Phone triage of patient questions using physician protocols.
• Orientation and training of clinical support staff; act as a clinical resource on CHF issues.
