Saint Alphonsus Medical Group (SAMG) is a physician-led, accountable multispecialty group with over 650 providers, seeking an experienced Interventional Cardiologist to serve as Medical Director of a 7-member cardiology practice in Nampa. The team includes 4 Interventional Cardiologists, 3 General Non-Invasive Cardiologists, and several Nurse Practitioners.

About the Saint Alphonsus Heart Center in Nampa

The center features 2 cath labs with peripheral vascular capabilities, a cath prep & recovery unit, a 10-bed Cardiac Medical Unit, nuclear medicine, echo, EKG diagnostics, and a Cardiac Recovery Unit. It offers quick access to comprehensive emergency and heart care services, including the only 24/7 interventional cath lab in Canyon County, making it the fastest-growing cardiology program in the region.

Practice Details

The Nampa practice is part of a larger, integrated 20-member Cardiology team across the health system. The position is full-time, with a traditional Monday-Friday schedule, plus consults and rounding. Call is shared 1:4, with options for paid excess call. Support services include Interventional Radiology, Cardiac MRI, Endoscopy suites, and radiology available weekdays. Nearby Boise provides additional surgical specialties, and the lab is staffed with board-certified professionals.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree
• Minimum 5 years experience with complex coronary interventions, including atherectomy and Impella
• Completion of an ACGME or AOA-accredited residency and cardiology fellowship
• Board certification in Cardiovascular Diseases (ABIM or AOBIM), with certification of special qualification (CSQ) in Interventional Cardiology, or ability to obtain within 3 years
• Ability to obtain medical licensure in Idaho and Oregon, hospital privileges, DEA registration, and controlled substance registration
• Privileges to perform stents, IVUS, cardiac catheterizations, ECGs, Holters, echocardiograms, stress testing, pacemaker procedures, atherectomy, and Impella
• Optional: Nuclear cardiology skills and echo certification are welcomed but not required; peripheral vascular treatment skills are also available.
