The Friendship School is looking for an Intervention Specialist to join our Student Support Services team.

This is more than a support position. It is an opportunity to help young children build independence, confidence, and meaningful relationships while working alongside a highly collaborative team dedicated to helping every child succeed.

Why The Friendship School?

The Friendship School is a nationally recognized early childhood magnet school built around a unique museum-based approach to learning. Students are encouraged to notice deeply, explore boldly, and create joyfully through inquiry, play, authentic experiences, and meaningful connections with the community.

This is an exciting time to join our school. In 2027-2028, The Friendship School will move into a brand-new, state-of-the-art early childhood facility designed specifically to support young learners and innovative teaching practices.

Our educators are drawn to our collaborative culture, commitment to continuous improvement, and belief that every child deserves an engaging, joyful, and inclusive learning experience.

Why This Role Is Different

As an Intervention Specialist, you'll be an essential member of a collaborative team that includes special education teachers, Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs), therapists, administrators, and families. Together, you'll provide individualized support that helps students build the skills they need to thrive both academically and socially.

In This Role, You Will

  • Implement instructional and behavioral support plans based on students' IEPs and individualized programming.

  • Support students across classroom and inclusion settings to promote independence and success.
  • Assist with personal care and health responsibilities as needed.
  • Prepare instructional materials, maintain documentation, and participate in ongoing professional learning and team collaboration.
