Job summary

New London Public Schools is seeking a Part-Time, 10-Month School Support Specialist for Nathan Hale Arts Magnet School to plan and deliver targeted intervention instruction to assigned students. You will monitor progress, adapt instruction based on data, and implement intervention programs to support student achievement.

Requirements include a Bachelor's Degree and direct experience with children. Bilingual skills in Spanish or Haitian Creole are highly desirable to support diverse learners in

  • Learn and successfully implement various intervention programs.
  • Performs such other instructional duties as assigned by the principal or designee.

Position Overview

To plan and deliver effective intervention instruction toassigned students.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities
  • Toplan and deliver small group intervention instruction to assigned students.
  • Ability toprogress monitor and adjust instruction as needed, based on student data.
  • Ability to match appropriate instructional materials and strategies based on student need as determined through data analysis.
  • Ability to create and maintain accurate data on student progress.
  • Learn and successfully implement various intervention programs.
  • Performs such otherinstructionalduties as assigned by the principal or designee
  • Minimum of aBachelor's Degree.
  • Direct experience working with children.
Preferred Requirements
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish or Haitian Creole highly desirable.
  • Self-motivated; ability to work independently and collaboratively, ability to bring new ideas to the team.
  • Flexibility and patience in helping students build their academic success.
  • Excellent collaboration, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
