Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and licensure in Special Education (Intervention Specialist).
Valid Ohio teaching certificate or license.
Appropriate criminal background clearance from the Ohio Bureau of Identification and Investigation and the FBI.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Ability to generate, record, and maintain information and statistical data.
Ability to administer, score, and interpret tests of individual achievement.
Knowledge of Ohio's Learning Standards and the Ohio Department of Education Model Curriculum.

Responsibilities

Job Description

Summary/Objective

The Intervention Specialist provides specially designed instruction to students on their caseload, ensuring that instruction is appropriate for their abilities, subjects, and personal growth. This role involves collaborating with teachers and service providers to develop measurable goals and determine appropriate accommodations for Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).

Essential Functions

Special Education

Demonstrate knowledge of Special Education policies and regulations.
Provide specially designed instruction to students in accordance with their IEPs.
Collaborate with teachers and service providers to develop individualized, objective, and measurable goals and objectives for IEPs.
Determine appropriate accommodations and interventions for students’ IEPs.
Complete IEP Progress Reports for students on the caseload.
Attend IEP and IAT meetings as requested.

Required Education and Experience
