Job summary

ISD 622 is seeking an Intervention Education Assistant in Saint Paul, MN. The role supports students with reading and math skills through oral reading, flash cards, and instructional reinforcement. You will conduct tests, monitor progress, and prepare learning materials.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED or higher education credits, plus strong communication and confidentiality. This is a 30-hour-per-week position with a Wednesday start date ASAP.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with reading and math skills using oral reading, flash cards, and related instructional reinforcement activities.
• Conduct tests and informal quizzes to assess mastery of material.
• Maintain test records, prepare progress reports, and monitor student progression.
• Prepare and copy worksheets and learning materials.
• Organize students' work and records for conferences.
• Work with students on skills assigned by the classroom teacher.
• Attend planning sessions with Intervention teaching staff.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED and one of the following:
  • An AA, AS, AAS (or higher) degree, or
  • Two years of post-secondary coursework (60 semester credits or 90 quarter credits) from an accredited institution of higher education which are applicable toward a bachelors degree, or
  • Passing score of 460 (or higher) on the ParaPro Assessment. (For more information on the ParaPro Assessment, contact Educational Testing Service at 1-800-772-9476 or www.ets.org/parapro)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent (preferably in Education)
• Prior education assistant/paraprofessional or teaching experience

Responsibilities
