Job summary

Oswego Community Unit School District 308 seeks a Title I Reading/Math Interventionist Teacher Assistant (OP) for Old Post Elementary School. The per diem position supports licensed teachers with small-group and one-on-one instruction.

The role is grant-funded through Title I and may involve recording student progress, assessments, and translations where possible. Up to 100 days per school year, daytime hours, and adherence to district policies.

Qualifications

• Valid Illinois Educator License with Stipulations as paraprofessional, professional, or substitute license.
• Strong verbal and written language skills.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work well with students and staff.
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates small group and one-on-one instruction to reinforce skills.
• Maintains and updates records of student progress, attendance, test scores, and personal information.
• Prepares instructional materials for use in class or pull-out groups.
• Participates in meetings and professional development activities.
• Provides supervision during before/after school and lunch/recess as assigned.
• Supports district policies and procedures and ethical standards.
