Job summary

School District 622 - North St. Paul-Maplewood-Oakdale is seeking an Intervention Education Assistant to support students with reading and math skills in Carver Elementary. The role is 30 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with an ASAP start date.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist students with reading and math skills using oral reading, flash cards, tests, and reinforcement activities.
• Conduct tests and informal quizzes to track student progress.
• Maintain test records, prepare progress reports, and monitor student progression.
• Prepare and copy worksheets and learning materials.
• Organize students' work/records for parent-teacher conferences.
• Work with students on skills assigned by the classroom teacher.
• Attend and participate in planning sessions with Intervention teaching staff.
• Other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• A high school diploma or GED and one of the following:
  • An AA, AS, AAS (or higher) degree, or
  • Two years of post-secondary coursework (60 semester credits or 90 quarter credits) from an accredited institution of higher education which are applicable toward a bachelors degree, or

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent (preferably in Education)
• Prior education assistant/paraprofessional or teaching experience
