Job summary

E-Z Bel Construction, LLC is seeking an installer to build and service traffic signal systems in outdoor environments, including overhead and underground work. You will use bucket trucks and aerial lifts to position signals, following MUTCD and OSHA guidelines and maintaining safety at all times.

The role requires the ability to read engineered layouts, work at height, and perform tests using specialized diagnostic gear.

Qualifications

  • 1–5 years of experience in traffic signal installation, electrical work, or a similar trade.
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings, electrical schematics, and riser diagrams accurately.
  • Working knowledge of MUTCD, OSHA, and TxDOT standards is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Decode intersection layouts and schematics to plan work.
  • Install and terminate signal heads, push buttons, and detection devices per specs.
  • Pull, route and splice overhead and underground conductors with correct color coding.
  • Set and assemble signal poles, mast arms, and brackets using proper hardware and rigging.
  • Install and configure cabinets, controllers, and battery backups to maintain uptime.
  • Log installations and adjustments and assist with material staging and inventory.

If you answered yes, you may be the installer who helps us turn engineered designs into safe, efficient intersections.MissionInstall, wire, and commission traffic signal systems, pedestrian push buttons, detection devices, and supporting equipment per engineered layouts. Work spans overhead and underground environments, using bucket trucks and aerial lifts, while meeting MUTCD, OSHA, and project requirements. The outdoors is your office—every season, every condition—backed by uncompromising electrical and aerial safety.What You'll DoDecode intersection layouts, engineered schematics, and overhead signal plans to plan your work.Install and terminate signal heads, pedestrian push buttons, and detection devices aligned with specifications.Pull, route, and splice overhead and underground conductors through conduit, ensuring correct color coding and terminations.Set and assemble signal poles, mast arms, and brackets using the right hardware, torque, and rigging procedures.Install and configure detection systems, controllers, cabinets, and battery backups to maintain uptime.Use bucket trucks and aerial lifts to position signals for optimal orientation and visibility.Run voltage, continuity, and signal tests with multimeters and related diagnostic gear.Apply MUTCD, OSHA, and company practices for aerial work, electrical safety, and traffic control.Keep wiring inside cabinets, junction boxes, and poles meticulously organized.Assist with material staging, inventory, and loading/unloading poles, arms, and cabinets.Log installations, inspections, and adjustments using project logs or digital tools.Alert the Foreman or Leadman immediately to layout conflicts, material gaps, or safety hazards.Provide traffic control and flagging to protect crews, equipment, and motorists.Take on additional related duties as needed.What It Takes to Succeed1–5 years of experience in traffic signal installation, electrical work, or a similar construction trade.Ability to interpret construction drawings, electrical schematics, and riser diagrams accurately.Working knowledge of MUTCD, OSHA, and TxDOT standards is preferred.Competence with bucket trucks, aerial lifts, and basic rigging—used with a safety-first mentality.Hands-on skill with hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing instruments.Exceptional attention to detail and comfort operating at heights.Commitment to safety protocols, including PPE, aerial safety, and electrical hazard prevention.Valid driver’s license and an insurable driving record for company vehicle operation.Physical DemandsExpect outdoor work year-round—heat, cold, rain, and harsh conditions included. You’ll stand, climb, bend, and kneel for extended periods and regularly lift up to 50 lbs., occasionally up to 100 lbs. with assistance when moving poles, mast arms, equipment, and materials.
