Job summary

The Lebanon School District is seeking interpreters/translators on an as-needed basis. This role involves translating written texts and interpreting spoken communication between languages, in a confidential setting.

Internal staff are paid $25 per hour; applicants must have bilingual proficiency, translation/interpretation experience, strong communication skills, cultural awareness, attention to detail, and a high school diploma or GED.

Qualifications

• Fluency in at least two languages, including native or near-native proficiency in the target language.
• Proven experience as a translator and/or interpreter, with a strong portfolio of work demonstrating linguistic proficiency.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both source and target languages.
• Knowledge of cultural differences and the ability to adapt communication to diverse cultural contexts.
• Strong attention to detail, with the ability to maintain accuracy and quality in translations and interpretations.
• Certification or accreditation as a translator and/or interpreter is preferred but not required.
• High School diploma/GED
