Job summary

Konare Law seeks a bilingual Interpreter/Translator (English/Spanish/French/Haitian Creole) to support consultations, meetings, and USCIS interviews. The role requires consecutive and simultaneous interpretation, sight translations, and strong confidentiality.

You will accompany clients and attorneys, translate legal documents, and assist with office administration in a fast-paced environment on-site in Maryland.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or Associate with 2 years interpreting experience.
• Full professional fluency in English, Spanish, French/Haitian Creole.
• Two+ years interpreting/translation experience.
• On-site position required.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality interpretation during consultations, client meetings, trial preparations, and other legal proceedings—in person and over the phone.
• Deliver consecutive and simultaneous interpretation between Spanish, English, French/Haitian Creole, and Portuguese, ensuring accuracy and clarity in all communications.
• Perform sight translations of legal documents for clients and attorneys, conveying meaning with precision.
• Accompany clients and attorneys to USCIS interviews, offering interpretation support as needed.
• Translate legal and administrative documents between interpreting sessions with attention to legal terminology and cultural context.
• Offer administrative assistance to attorneys and paralegals, contributing to the overall efficiency of the office.
• Maintain strict confidentiality in handling all client and attorney information, in accordance with legal and ethical standards.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree (preferred) or Associate degree with a minimum of two years of professional interpreting experience
• Certification: Translator/Interpreter certification preferred
• Language Proficiency: Full professional fluency in both French/Haitian Creole, Spanish and English
• Experience: Minimum of two years of hands-on experience in interpreting and translating in a professional setting
