Job summary

Prisma is seeking experienced Medical Interpreters to provide remote interpreting services, focusing on Over-the-Phone and Video Remote formats. This role primarily supports clients in South Dakota, including the DHS/LTSS offices.

A successful candidate must be a certified Medical Interpreter and agree to a background check and training in data security. Proficiency in SPANISH is particularly sought after, along with knowledge of other languages such as Amharic, Mandarin, and Dakota.

Qualifications

• Certified Medical Interpreter (CMI) designation from NBCMI or equivalent credentials.
• Must pass a criminal history background check.
• Willingness to complete training in data security protocols.

Prisma is hiring experienced MEDICAL INTERPRETERS to join our team as independent contractors. In this role you will provide Over-the-Phone (on-demand & pre-scheduled) and Video Remote (pre-scheduled) interpreting services to various Prisma clients including the South Dakota DHS/LTSS offices. This is a 100% remote position.

Languages in Demand

SPANISH plus Amharic, Chinese (Mandarin), Dakota, German, Karen, Lakota, Nakota, Nepali, Serbian, Somali, Tagalog and Vietnamese

Minimum Requirements

Must meet all of the following:

• Certified Medical Interpreter (CMI) designation from NBCMI - OR - equivalent credentials from other qualifying organizations (e.g. State Dept. of Health). You will be asked to provide your certificates, proof of training, etc.
• Agree to a criminal history background check.
• Agree to complete training/courses in data security protocols and protection of personal information.
