Ohio History Connection seeks an Interpreter for Newark Earthworks and Flint Ridge in Licking County. The role is intermittent and field-based, guiding visitors through tours and formal/informal programming to foster a personal connection to Ohio history.
The position supports field trips, especially Sept–Nov and Mar–May, with hours varying; applicants must be 16+ and able to work outdoors in diverse weather.

Salary: $15/hr
An interpreter is the consummate storyteller; knowledgeable, approachable, passionate, fun, thought-provoking, dynamic and inclusive. Led by the mission and vision of the Ohio History Connection, the interpreter will guide visitors in their exploration of the historic sites and museums through guided tours, and by leading formal and informal programming and activities that help visitors spark a personal connection to Ohio History.
This position will be specifically aiding in field trips and group experiences at the Newark Earthworks and Flint Ridge in Licking County, Ohio.
Field trips are typically conducted Monday-Wednesday 9:00am-2:00pm. Most field trip activity occurs during September, October, and November and again during mid-March, April, and May.
This is an intermittent position. Work opportunities are offered based on operational need and scheduled programming. Hours and work schedules will vary, and there is no guarantee of hours, frequency of work, or ongoing assignments.
