Job summary

Brookgreen Gardens is seeking a Coordinator of Interpretation and Outreach Programs to lead Brookgreen U, our lifelong learning program, and to train Historical Interpreters and Volunteer Docents. You will ensure engaging, accurate interpretation grounded in NA I best practices and collaborate across departments to expand educational offerings.

The role involves developing training materials, coordinating tours, and partnering with colleges and cultural organizations to broaden community

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years in museum education, interpretation or public programming.
• Excellent public speaking, presentation and writing skills; strong interpersonal communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead Brookgreen U, the lifelong learning program.
• Develop annual and seasonal schedules aligned with mission and audience interests.
• Identify and recruit instructors, presenters, subject matter experts.
• Coordinate all logistics for Brookgreen U and training sessions.
• Monitor participation and use feedback to improve programs.
• Collaborate with Marketing to promote programs and boost participation.
• Build partnerships with colleges, cultural organizations and community groups.
• Assist in annual goals, budgets and long-range plans for adult learning initiatives.
• Maintain records and prepare reports on participation and outcomes.
• Coordinate interpretive tours and trainer-led instruction following NA I guidelines.
