Job summary

Jamieson Don Consultants is seeking a DevOps Engineer to support Cloud & BigData infrastructure, Hadoop, Docker and Kubernetes across on-premise and cloud environments. The role includes deployment, automation, monitoring, and ensuring secure and reliable production systems.

You will work with Linux servers in virtualized and cloud setups (OpenStack/AWS/GCP/Azure), implement backup and failover strategies, and collaborate with the product team to optimize performance and reliability for

Qualifications

• Experience with Linux servers in virtualized and cloud environments (OpenStack, AWS, Google, Azure).
• Familiarity with scripting language fundamentals.
• Experience installing, configuring and maintaining Apache, MySQL services.
• Experience supporting Java, Python, Golang, NodeJS, RoR stacks.
• Strong grasp of configuration management tools (GitHub, SVN, Chef).
• Familiarity with load balancing and firewalls.
• Proficient with network tools such as iptables, Linux IPVS, and HAProxy.
• Experience in virtualization technologies.
• Ability to build and monitor services on production servers.
• Knowledge of servers and switches.
• Experience setting up DC-DR environments with Linux scripting.
• Experience in syncing scripts for backup and dev environments; monitoring web servers (Apache).

Responsibilities

• Infrastructure monitoring and reporting for Hadoop, Cloud, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Execute supporting tasks: code deployment, source control, virtual servers, scripting.
• Implement, secure and maintain systems for test, development, and production.
• Identify performance issues and propose solutions with product teams.
• Assess discrepancies and risks; implement security-compliant solutions.
• Write/modify deployment and monitoring scripts.
• Develop and oversee backup, replication, clustering, and failover strategies.
• Upgrade Linux software on servers and manage security updates.

Description

• Infrastructure monitoring and reporting tools for Hadoop, Cloud, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Execute all the supporting tasks which are included, but not limited to code deployment, managing source control systems, virtual servers, scripting etc.
• Implement, secure and maintain the computer systems for its test, development and production environment.
• Identify and analyze the issues that hamper the performance of the system, and to work in close coordination with the product development team and recommend the solutions to the issues.
• Identify the discrepancies in the system, to assess the risks, and to implement solutions by adhering to the security standards.
• Involve in writing and modifying scripts for application deployments as well as system monitoring.
• Involve in developing and overseeing the backup, replication, clustering and failover strategies.
• Linux administrator duty is to upgrade the software installed including on to the server including upgrading virus software and code upgrades.
• Maintenance of Hadoop Clusters and Microservices.
