Job summary

Greater St. Louis Area Scouting invites motivated students to join our internship program for Fall 2026.

You will work roughly 20 hours per week, gaining hands-on exposure to non-profit leadership, program development, fundraising, and marketing while receiving mentorship from seasoned Scouters. This paid internship supports high school through college students and meets internship requirements (12–16 weeks).

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or current enrollment in HS/college
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven organizational and teamwork abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with a professional Scouter for ~20 hours per week.
  • Document learning experiences with weekly logs.
  • Participate in mid-term and final evaluations with mentor.
  • Attend trainings, meetings, and activities to explore career paths in Scouting.
  • Complete assigned projects and demonstrate growth during the internship.

Join the Greater St. Louis Area Scouting team for a dynamic internship experience that will propel your professional development and provide invaluable insights into the rewarding field of non-profit leadership.About Us:Greater St. Louis Area Scouting is a vibrant 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to shaping future leaders through character development and community engagement. We're offering a unique internship program designed to immerse you in the heart of our operations, providing hands-on experience and mentorship from seasoned professionals.Your Mission, Should You Choose to Accept It:As an intern, you'll be more than just an observer. You'll be an integral part of our team, working alongside experienced Scouters to:Gain firsthand knowledge of the non-profit sector and the impact of our programs.Hone your communication, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.Assist with program development, fundraising initiatives, marketing campaigns, and more.Receive personalized mentorship and guidance from experienced professionals.Fulfill your high school, college, or university internship requirements (12-16 weeks).What You'll Be Doing:Collaborating with a professional Scouter for approximately 20 hours per week.Documenting your learning journey through weekly activity logs.Participating in mid-term and final evaluations with your mentor.Attending meetings, training, and activities to explore diverse career paths within Scouting.Completing assigned projects and tasks.Becoming a member of Scouting America and upholding the Scout Oath and Law.Qualifications:High School diploma, college students, recent graduates, or currently enrolled high school junior or senior.A genuine interest in the non-profit sector and/or Scouting America.Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.Prior non-profit experience or coursework in fundraising, management, or marketing (a plus!).Strong organizational, self-motivation, and teamwork skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.A commitment to the values of the Scout Oath and Law.Reliable transportation is required.Schedule and hours are negotiable.Areas of Impact:Explore diverse areas within our organization, including:Communications, Business Administration, Education, Fundraising, Marketing, Philanthropy, Sales, Social Services, and Non-Profit AdministrationYour Reward:$15.00 per hour.Mileage reimbursement for occasional travel within service area.Invaluable experience in a dynamic non-profit environment.Mentorship from experienced professionals.Opportunity to make a tangible difference in your community.A great addition to your college applications.Networking opportunities.Apply today and become a part of the Greater St. Louis Area Scouting family!
