Job summary

Infineon Technologies AG in Lexington, KY is seeking a motivated student or early-career engineer for a PDK-focused role within the EDA workflow. You will develop and refine parameterized cells, create rule decks for DRC/LVS/RCX, and drive QA procedures to ensure high-quality PDK deliverables.

Qualifications

• Education: working toward a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related discipline
• Scripting: experience writing automation and EDA scripts in Python, TCL, SKILL, Ruby or Bash
• EDA Tools: familiarity with Cadence and Mentor design environments and Calibre verification tools such as DRC, LVS, PERC and QRC
• Semiconductor Knowledge: understanding of semiconductor device structure, VLSI concepts, IC design flow and front-to-back layout practices
• Verification Experience: exposure to layout verification and physical verification concepts and tools
• Platforms: basic experience with UNIX/Linux environments and MS Office
• Soft Skills: strong teamwork, communication, time management and ability to respond to changing requirements

Responsibilities

• PDK Development: develop and improve parameterized cells (Pcells) for devices such as FETs, BJT, diode and passive components for inclusion in the PDK
• Rule Creation: author and maintain Calibre DRC, LVS, RCX and Latchup rule decks translating technology/fab design rules into verification checks
• Verification QA: implement and execute formal QA procedures for DRC/LVS/RCX rule decks and PDK deliverables to meet quality standards
• Tool Integration: work with Cadence and Mentor flows and configure techfiles, rule decks and verification scripts for major EDA tools
• Cross-Team Support: collaborate with Device Design, Device Characterization, Technology and Fab teams to gather requirements and resolve PDK issues
• Scripting & Automation: create and maintain automation scripts using Python, TCL, SKILL, Ruby or Bash to support PDK build and release processes
• User Support: respond to design center requests, troubleshoot PDK issues, and support PDK users to improve design productivity and reduce cycle time

Salary pay information

Location Indicative salary range Lexington, KY United States Wage range that the company expects to pay for a qualified candidate: US$ 29.00 – US$ 42.50 Hourly rate will depend on the highest level of education completed.
