Menards is seeking a Network Administrator Intern in Eau Claire, WI. This part-time, year-round role supports the network (LAN/WAN/Wireless) in a secure environment, assisting in installation, configuration, and testing of multi-vendor equipment.

The position offers 15–20 hours weekly, Monday–Friday, with flexible scheduling to fit school commitments. Summer travel to remote offices may be required for post-network maintenance; reports to a Team Lead/Manager and occasional collaboration with IS

Qualifications

• Experience basic network administration tasks.
• Familiarity with TCP/IP and network protocols.
• Ability to troubleshoot hardware and software issues related to networks.
• Collaborate with external vendors and internal IS teams.

Responsibilities

• Support the Menards corporate network with basic administration tasks.
• Monitor network health and report incidents as needed.
• Assist in configuration and installation of network equipment.
• Provide first-line support for network infrastructure and user issues.
• Coordinate with external vendors for maintenance and certifications.
• Ensure SLA expectations are met and changes are tested before deployment.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Network Administrator Intern is a part-time, year-round position that will assist in the minor day-to-day administration; support and ongoing enhancement of Menard, Inc’s network (LAN, WAN, Wireless) infrastructures. This position requires working in a secure, mission-critical environment, assisting Network Administrators and Team Leads with installation, configuration, and testing of multi-vendor network equipment. During summer months this job may require traveling to remote offices to assist in post network maintenance.

The position requires 15-20 hours per week between 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Monday-Friday.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Support:

• Maintain a basic working knowledge of Menards’ corporate network.
• Provide low-level network administration services.
• Monitoring the health of the overall network, reporting problems and incidents as necessary.
• Participate in the configuration and installation of Network Architecture.
• Assist in first line of support for network infrastructure.
• Troubleshooting configuration issues involving software conflicts, hardware problems, network protocols (TCP/IP).
• Assisting staff with the proper operation of the system.
• Working with external vendors and support providers as required.
• Assisting in new device certification process
• Meet with business teams and technical support staff to evaluate and assess user satisfaction
• Ensure Service Level Agreements are met
• Thoroughly test all changes prior to implementation
• Provide technical support to Menards' IS staff
