Universal Destinations & Experiences is offering a Data Scientist Intern position based in our Orlando offices. You will join UDX's Global Pricing Analytics team to learn price optimization for admissions under a data scientist mentor, gaining end-to-end exposure to systems, models, and business impact.

The internship covers forecasting, pricing optimization, and model development using Python, SQL, TensorFlow, Prophet, SciPy, and NumPy, with AWS/Snowflake exposure.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a graduate degree at an accredited institution.
• Minimum 2.8 GPA required; transcript needed upon application.
• Majors in Operations Research, Statistics, Data Science, or similar preferred.

Responsibilities

• Learn pricing optimization logic, systems, models, and business rules for admissions pricing.
• Prototype models to forecast demand and optimize admissions prices.
• Develop forecasting models with appropriate disaggregation and tune regressors.
• Create optimization models using dynamic programming for price recommendations.
• Analyze data to identify pricing strategies that drive incremental revenue.
• Test pricing strategies and report on results from pricing tests.
• Apply Python, SQL, TensorFlow, Prophet, SciPy, NumPy; exposure to AWS and Snowflake.
• Engage in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities as required.

Universal Destinations & Experiences Internship Program:

• Summer 2027 Program Dates: Approximately May 2027 – August 2027.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Data Scientist Intern will be part of UDX's Global Pricing Analytics team. The intern will train under the guidance of a data scientist in price optimization for admissions. The intern will learn end-to-end (systems, models, processes, and business) how admission prices are optimally generated and implemented.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Learn the process, systems, models, and business rules in the optimization of admissions pricing at Universal Destinations & Experiences.


• Prototype models for forecasting demand and optimizing prices of admissions.


• Assist with development of forecasting models at the optimal level of disaggregation and fine-tunes regressors/parameters for optimal accuracy.


• Create optimization models in dynamic programming and fine-tunes parameters for generating actionable price recommendations.


• Conduct data analysis and identify pricing strategies to generate incremental revenue.


• Construct hypotheses to test pricing strategies and implements, measures, and reports on pricing tests.


• Apply programming and analytical skills using Python, SQL, TensorFlow, Prophet, SciPy, and NumPy, with exposure to AWS and Snowflake.


• Understand and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training, and Team Member involvement activities.


• Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• In pursuit of a Graduate degree at an Accredited Institution.


• Minimum cumulative 2.8 GPA is required.


• A transcript is required upon application.

PREFERRED SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:

• Preferred majors include: Operations Research, Statistics, Data Science, or similar.

• This internship will be an in-person experience, based in our Orlando offices.


• Interns must be currently pursuing a degree at an accredited university, and must have a graduation date later than August 2027.


• Universal Orlando does not provide housing. Interns are responsible for their own housing and transportation.
