Job summary

Gexpro Services is seeking a Trade Compliance Specialist to support international transactions and identify export/import opportunities. The role leverages knowledge of customs regulations, HTS data, and trade programs to minimize delays and ensure compliant classifications.

The ideal candidate has import/export or customs brokerage experience, excels at communication, and can manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. This full-time position is based in California.

Qualifications

• Proven, effective communication skills across written and verbal channels.
• Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal abilities to liaise with teams.
• Advanced problem-solving, data analysis and logical reasoning.
• Excellent multi-tasking and prioritisation in dynamic environments.
• Sharp attention to detail and strict adherence to trade policies.
• Experience in Trade Compliance / Supply Chain / international procurement preferred.
• Proficient PC skills including Word and Excel; email and presentations.

Responsibilities

• Assist in monitoring transactions for potential violations under US policy.
• Collaborate to classify material for import/export per customs regulations.
• Work to eliminate customs holds by ensuring complete classifications.
• Prepare accurate documents for international shipments and retain records.
• Conduct Free Trade and GSP program monitoring and support.
• Communicate trade issues affecting the supply chain; review data/news.
• Attend monthly/quarterly reviews with third-party brokerage/classification providers.
• Maintain HTS, Schedule B, EAR, and duty rates in ERP; brief field on changes.
• Review and dispute sub-supplier tariff charges as needed.
