Job summary

The Sherwin-Williams Company seeks an International Tax Analyst to join the International Tax group at our Global Headquarters in Cleveland, OH. You will help manage the international portion of the U.S. corporate tax return and related filings.

This role supports tax planning, research, and documentation, working with cross-functional teams and external consultants to ensure compliance and accurate reporting of Canada and Caribbean tax obligations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 1+ year of finance or tax experience.
  • Understanding of international direct and indirect tax concepts.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel experience.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future for employment visa status.
  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
  • Master's Degree in Accounting, Tax or Finance (preferred).
  • CPA (preferred).
  • Experience using Tax/Accounting systems (CSC CorpTax, OneStream, Oracle GL Cloud).

Responsibilities

  • Prepare international portion of U.S. Income Tax Return Form 1120 and related schedules.
  • Assist with foreign elements of U.S. Tax Return (Form 8975, 5713, 8865).
  • Assist with quarterly income tax provision related to international taxes (GILTI, BEAT, FDII, FTC).
  • Assist with year-end international tax provisions.
  • Develop and execute moderately complex tax planning strategies and projects.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external consultants.
  • Maintain calendar of international tax compliance and reporting due dates.
  • Prepare/Review VAT/Indirect Tax filings for Canada and Caribbean.
  • Prepare/Review Direct Tax filings for Canada and Caribbean.
  • Assist with Canadian and Caribbean payroll tax compliance.
  • Assist with Canadian and Caribbean tax audit inquiries.
  • Assist with Domestic Tax compliance as needed.

Skills

The Sherwin-Williams Company is seeking an International Tax Analyst to join the International Tax group. This person will join a team that is enthusiastic and forward thinking. The International Tax group strives to stay at the forefront of global tax legislation and utilize tax technology to enhance efficiencies and automation. The International Tax Analyst will report directly to the International Tax Manager and play a vital role in the Company's tax compliance, research and planning, execution, and documentation. Members of the International Tax group work closely with one another to ensure all individuals are supported and given all resources necessary to succeed in their professional growth.

This role is not hybrid/remote and will be located at our Global Headquarters in Cleveland, OH.

Because this role involves access to confidential financial information, the Company has determined that a review of criminal history is necessary to protect the business and its operations and reputation and to provide similar protections for its clients and potential investments.

Core Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the accurate preparation of the assigned international portion of the U.S. Income Tax Return Form 1120 including Form 5471, Form 8858, Form 8865, and related elections and supporting schedules.
  • Assist Tax management with preparation and review of foreign elements of the U.S. Tax Return. Which includes Country-by-Country (Form 8975), International Boycott Report (Form 5713), and other compliance items as assigned.
  • Assist with the preparation, analysis, and review of the quarterly income tax provision as it related to the computation of GILITI, BEAT, FDII, FTC, etc.
  • Assist with the preparation, analysis, and review of the year-end income tax provision as it relates to international taxes for assigned subsidiaries and various computations.
  • Assist with development and execution of moderately complex tax planning strategies and projects.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional groups within the Company and with external consultants as needed to solve tax related issues.
  • Maintaining a calendar of due dates for international tax compliance and reporting tasks.
  • Prepare/Review VAT/Indirect Tax filings specific to Canada and Caribbean.
  • Prepare/Review Direct Tax filings specific to Canada and Caribbean.
  • Assist with Canadian and Caribbean payroll tax compliance.
  • Assist with Canadian and Caribbean tax audit inquiries.
  • Assist with Domestic Tax compliance as needed.
Position Requirements:
