Job summary

Brigham Young University is seeking an International Student and Scholar Specialist to guide non‑U.S. citizen students, scholars, and faculty through federal visa requirements. You will issue documents, monitor compliance, and provide holistic advising across academic and cultural dimensions.

Lead class instruction in international student visa law, collaborate with campus departments, and train staff on regulatory awareness while maintaining sensitive student support partnerships.

Qualifications

• Three years of related full‑time experience in higher education compliance.
• Experience as a Designated School Official (DSO) and/or Alternate Responsible Officer (ARO) preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication with cross-cultural sensitivity.

Responsibilities

• Review visa applications and issue required documents in compliance with federal regulations.
• Monitor F‑ and J‑visa compliance from pre-arrival through post‑graduation Practical Training.
• Coordinate with government officials and institutions, maintaining detailed records of visa decisions.
