Job summary

The University of Oklahoma’s Office of International Student Services seeks an International Student Advisor to provide immigration guidance, ensure compliance with federal regulations, and support international students on the OU campus.

As a Designated School Official (DSO) and Alternate Responsible Officer (ARO), you will collaborate with students, faculty and staff to navigate academic journeys and stay compliant with immigration rules.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; 24 months of related international experience.
  • Equivalency: 48 months of relevant experience may substitute for a Bachelor's degree; 72 months total experience considered.
  • Master's degree with no related experience is also acceptable.

Responsibilities

  • Provide accurate immigration guidance and federal regulation expertise.
  • Collaborate professionally with students, faculty, and staff to support immigration needs and compliance.
  • Serve as a Designated School Official (DSO) and Alternate Responsible Officer (ARO) for OU international students.

Targeted salary of $43,000 annually, based on experience

Position Introduction:

The Office of International Student Services seeks an International Student Advisor. Provide accurate immigration guidance, federal regulation expertise, and collaborate professionally with students, faculty, and staff.
The University of Oklahoma, as a flagship public institution, is committed to ensuring international students' immigration needs and compliance are met. The Office of International Student Services (ISS) provides excellent support in advising international students on navigating their academic journey and balancing federal regulations. This position will function as a Designated School Official (DSO) and Alternate Responsible Officer (ARO) to ensure immigration needs are provided to international students on the OU campus.

Required Education:
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 24 months of of related international experience.
Equivalency/Substitution

Will accept 48 months of relevant experience in lieu of a Bachelor's degree for a total of 72 months of experience. Will also accept a Master's degree and no experience.
