Urschel, a 100% employee-owned company, seeks an International Shipping Clerk to join our Customer Service team in Chesterton, Indiana. Starting pay is $23.08/hour and the role focuses on airfreight, sea freight, and courier shipments with customer communication.

Qualified applicants should have a high school diploma, strong math and organizational skills, and the ability to work independently. Manufacturing background is a plus; ESOP benefits are available.

Responsabilités

• Process airfreight shipments and prepare all customs documents.
• Process sea freight shipments and book with forwarders; generate customs docs.
• Book courier shipments (UPS/FedEx/DHL) and deliver customs docs to shipping.
• Communicate with customers on shipment details and timelines via email.
• Book truck shipments and create shipping labels in the TMS system.

Urschel employee-owners design and manufacture industrial cutting equipment for food processing and allied industries around the world from our global headquarters located in Chesterton, Indiana, U.S.A. Consumers purchase goods manufactured on Urschel cutting equipment on a daily basis.

Starting pay is $23.08/hour

This position will process airfreight shipments and prepare all customs shipping documents. Process sea freight shipments, contact forwarder for booking number and generate all customs documents to submit to customer and forward. Complete bookings for all courier shipments (UPS/FedEx/DHL) and deliver all customs documents to the shipping department to accompany shipments. Correspond with customers on shipment details by sending necessary documentation for approval to determine method and timeframe for pickup. Book truck shipments and create shipping labels in TMS system. Maintain shipping related responses to email requests from customers, offices, agents, and forwarders.

Qualified applicants must have a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent, excellent math, organization, multi-tasking, and critical thinking talents. Ability to work independently and possess excellent communication skills in both written and verbal. Strong computer skills and the ability to meet deadlines. Manufacturing background is a plus.
