Language Services Associates, Inc. is seeking internationally based telephonic interpreters for Bassa within its network of Independently Contracted Interpreters.

You will handle on-demand calls and facilitate language communication for the LEP community in a variety of settings. Qualified candidates are bilingual in English and Bassa, comfortable with remote interpreting, and able to maintain strict confidentiality while following professional conduct and industry best practices.

Qualifications

• Bilingual in English and Bassa, able to interpret clearly.
• Proficient with web platforms, email, and basic word processing.
• Must have a quiet, secure interpreting space free from external noise.

Overview:

As an Internationally based telephonic interpreter for Bassa in LSA’s network of Independently Contracted Interpreters, you are responsible for handling telephone calls on demand and facilitating language communication for the Limited English Proficient (LEP) community in a variety of settings. the company is continuously accepting qualified interpreters!

Responsibilities:

• Provide effective telephonic remote interpreting
• Answer inbound calls in a timely manner
• Provide superior customer service
• Adhere to Code of Professional Conduct, including maintaining strict standards of confidentiality
• Adhere to all policies and procedures, including professional interpretation protocols and industry specific best practices

Qualifications/Experience:

• Full fluency in both English and Bassa
• Technology proficient (web-based platforms, email, Microsoft Word)
• An interpreting space that is quiet, secure, and free from outside noises
• 1+ years of professional interpreting experience preferred
• Industry specific certifications/trainings preferred (CMI, CCHI, Bridging the Gap, Cross-Cultural, etc.)
